“Building on the foundation previously established, we will deepen our collaboration through Water Chronicles – LIVE, a co-curatorial exchange developed via public programmes in each partner’s location. This phase extends our research to the audiences, inviting artists from our communities to participate and strengthening cultural networks. Our goal is to share a collective vision of urban water spaces as sites of creative dialogue, generating innovative ways of thinking about water, public space, and artistic practice. Grounded in shared social interests, we have developed a hydro-activist approach that understands water as a political, symbolic, and emotional territory.”

About the partners
Surge Cooperative & Blanc Sceol
Surge Cooperative is a not-for-profit coop living and working on the Channelsea river in Newham, London, since 2018. Their aim is to co-develop the Channelsea River and Bow Creek as a creative, livable, cohesive, resilient, and participatory blue- green space within East London. Blanc Sceol (Stephen Shiell and Hannah White) are artists and founding members/directors of Surge Coop. They are an artist duo working in the expanded fields of sound, listening and performance. They hold participatory gatherings to foster reciprocal relationships with environmental communities. Since 2018 they have been working site-specifically with Channelsea River in London through and with Surge Coop. This recovering waterscape, home to Europe’s 3rd largest sewer outfall, is recognized as a key collaborator. Their regular practices with the river are invitations to gather, listen, observe and learn how to support and better understand the ecosystem through attentive creative collaboration.
Insola
Insola, with their work in Berlin, offers a platform that merges art and urbanism, advocating for water as an accessible public space. Designed as a dynamic architectural framework, their physical space has been floating on water since 2020, seamlessly adapting to diverse projects and engaging directly with its aquatic environment. The Insola invites artists and open-minded individuals to connect, share values, and nurture free culture on water. www.insola.berlin
