“Through our collaboration, we are bringing together our experience in community-based artistic practice in the UK and Germany to explore how cultures of giving shape relationships across generations and migration contexts. Working with first- and second-generation migrant communities in Margate and Leipzig, we will develop participatory and performative formats that examine reciprocity, care and responsibility from multiple perspectives. Together, we aim to create shared spaces for dialogue and co-creation, while strengthening a long-term transnational partnership rooted in mutual exchange.”

About the partners

PROJEKT EUROPA
PROJEKT EUROPA is a performing arts charity dedicated to transforming narratives around migration and displacement by supporting, developing, and producing the work of migrants and migrant artists across the UK. Believing that everyone can be an artist, we partner with theatres, community groups, and civic organisations across the UK to expand cultural access for migrants. We deliver activity across community engagement for refugees and asylum seekers; leadership development; support for emerging migrant artists; and migrant- focused, multilingual work at the intersection of performance, co-creation, and participation.
At the heart of our work is the mission to redefine the cultural imagination by centering migrant voices as essential drivers of dialogue, creativity, and decision-making. We harness the power of performing arts to craft a richer, more inclusive national story—one where migrant experiences are visible, valued, and celebrated. www.projekteuropa.org

edugrapes
At edugrapes, we work at the intersection of art, education and society. We design participatory artistic processes that explore how communities in post-migrant contexts grow, connect and organise themselves.

Our practice is inspired by the concept of grapes, which grow in clusters rather than alone. We believe societies evolve in a similar way — through connection, reciprocity and shared responsibility.

We begin by listening. Working closely with local groups, we co-create spaces where lived experience becomes the starting point for artistic exploration. Through performance, digital media and embodied methods, we turn collective questions into shared research.

A central focus of our work is engaging younger generations and connecting to their everyday realities, perspectives and cultural expressions. We see this as essential for long-term social development.

Our approach is also shaped by learning from the Global South, where artistic practice is often deeply rooted in community life and mutual care. We combine aesthetic education with long-term thinking, using performance and new media to build bridges across cultures and strengthen sustainable forms of collaboration.
