Tier One partners Media Education CIC (Edinburgh, Scotland) and Q3.Quartier für Medien.Bildung (Traunstein, Bayern) have come together through their project 'Sharing Creative Practice' across 2025 - 2026 where they have been exploring the use of creativity, filmmaking and podcasting.

Join Media Education from Scotland and Q3 for an interactive session exploring how participatory media projects can move us beyond „tokenism“ toward genuine community power. In a world where decision-making is often concentrated among the few, we examine, through practical case studies how such projects act as a catalyst for citizenship, inclusion, media literacy, and creative engagement with technology.
An informal networking session is planned after the initial presentation for any participants wishing to learn more about each institution.
The presentation is the result of a knowledge exchange funded by the Cultural Bridge fund between media education organizations, Q3 Quartier für Medien.Bildung.Abenteuer in Traunstein, Germany and Media Education in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Hybrid presentation allows participants to join us in-person in Traunstein, Germany, or online worldwide and will be presented in English, with multilingual subtitling available online and German-language support in-person.
Film als Werkzeug für Community Empowerment und sozialen Wandel
Media Education aus Schottland und Q3 laden gemeinsam alle Interessierten zu einer interaktiven Veranstaltung ein. Gemeinsam wollen wir erkunden, wie partizipative Medienprojekte echte Mitbestimmung ermöglichen können – also mehr als bloße Symbolbeteiligung und das damit einhergehende Vortäuschen von Vielfalt durch das Einbinden von Minderheiten, ohne Strukturen zu ändern (Tokenismus).
Anhand praxisnaher Beispiele zeigen wir, wie solche Projekte gesellschaftliche Teilhabe stärken, Inklusion fördern und Medienkompetenz auf kreative Weise erweitern können. Außerdem schauen wir darauf, wie der gemeinsame Umgang mit digitalen Technologien neue Wege für Zusammenarbeit, Lernen und Ausdruck eröffnet.
Nach der Präsentation laden wir zu einer offenen Networking-Runde ein. Hier können sich Teilnehmende vernetzen, eigene Erfahrungen einbringen und mehr über die Arbeit der beteiligten Organisationen erfahren.
Die Präsentation ist das Ergebnis eines Wissensaustauschs, der durch den Cultural Bridge/ Fonds Soziokultur gefördert wurde.
Die Veranstaltung findet hybrid statt: Eine Teilnahme ist sowohl vor Ort in Traunstein als auch online weltweit möglich. Die Präsentation erfolgt auf Englisch. Online stehen mehrsprachige Untertitel zur Verfügung, vor Ort wird eine deutschsprachige Unterstützung angeboten.
